This post is about someone who is very dear to my heart and special to me. My good friend JAZZ TORREZ. She is an extraordinary girl with amazing talents. Someone who which I consider extremely talented in many areas; you all had to know about her!
Current job? I'm an English tutor.
Dream job? I would love to be an art therapist and an established fine artist at the same time.
If I could travel anywhere? I would like to travel to many places! I guess what comes to mind first is Spain because there are so many great art museums.
Something unique about me? My fingerprint.
I like to? I enjoy drawing, painting, reading, writing, thrifting, ballet,
traveling, watching foreign and independent films, and eating and
drinking with good company.
I watch? I watch so much on
Netflix it's ridiculous! I like shows like Parks and Recreation,
Breaking Bad, and Arrested Development. As for films, some of my
favorites come from Pedro Almodóvar, Hayao Miyazaki, Jan Svankmajer,
Luis Buñuel, David Cronenberg, Wim Wenders, and Agnes Varda.
Listening to? I mainly listen to 80's new wave music because it makes me happy. I
love synthesizers. I always listen to Depeche Mode, Joy Division, New
Order, Duran Duran, Bowie, Echo and the Bunnymen, Tones on Tail,
Bauhaus, Talking Heads, Devo, Pixies, Prince, Siouxsie and the Banshees,
and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. I've been listening to tons of
Elvis lately. When I was in elementary school I thought he was the
coolest person ever, my dad had gotten me an Elvis t-shirt and I wore it
practically every day.
Crushing on? Oh I don't know. I think I'll play it safe and say Al Pacino.
5 things that inspire me? My parents, strong female artists like Frida Kahlo/Cindy Sherman/Eva
Hesse/Carolee Schneemann, my wonderful friends from El Paso, a good
sketchbook with fresh new pages, and falling in love. Ayyy, the last one
is cheesy but very true.
Who or what inspires my style? My mom has always inspired my style and I just realized that recently.
She is a true minimalist, chic, and classy. The way she puts things
together is simple and effortless. She always reminds me that you can
look beautiful in even a plain white t-shirt, as long as you wear it
with confidence.
